The Diagram Builder gives your team a visual, drag-and-drop workspace to design event layouts using your property's real floor plans. Build a boardroom setup for 20 or a gala for 600 — then save it, share it, and reuse it.
Create a New Diagram
- Navigate to Spaces in the left navigation and select Create diagram on the Space you want to use.
- The Diagram Builder opens with two tabs at the top: Space (showing venue details) and Diagram (your design workspace). Select the Diagram tab to begin.
- Your new diagram is named "Untitled Diagram" by default. Click the pencil icon next to the name to rename it at any time.
Design Your Layout
The Diagram tab is your design canvas. A toolbar on the left side gives you access to furniture and layout elements. Use these tools to build your event configuration:
- Drag and drop furniture items (chairs, tables, staging) directly onto the floor plan
- Choose from preset layout templates like Classroom, Cabaret, and Round configurations
- Resize, rotate, and reposition items to match your client's requirements
- View real-time counts for tables and chairs at the top of the canvas
The canvas also shows dimensions in real-world measurements, so you can verify spacing and ensure the layout works for the actual room.
Save Your Work
The Diagram Builder uses an explicit save model to give you full control over when your work is committed.
- Click Save to commit your diagram. A confirmation appears when the save is complete, and your diagram is immediately available in the Asset Library.
- Click Done when you're finished working. If you have unsaved changes, you'll see a prompt with three options: Save & Exit, Discard & Exit, or Cancel.
The status indicator in the upper right shows Saved or Unsaved changes so you always know where you stand.
Tip: Diagrams save manually, not automatically. If you close or refresh your browser before saving, any unsaved changes will be lost. Save frequently as you work, especially after making significant layout changes.
Edit an Existing Diagram
To update a diagram you've already created:
- Open the diagram from the Asset Library or from the Space details takeover.
- Select Edit to reopen it in the Diagram Builder.
- Make your changes and click Save.
When you save an edited diagram, the updated version replaces the previous one everywhere it's used — including any Tours it's been added to. Anyone with a shared link will automatically see the latest version.
Good to know: Edits are saved in place, so there's no need to re-share links or update Tours after making changes. If you'd like to keep the original layout and create a variation, duplicate the diagram first (see Manage Diagrams in Your Asset Library).
If Something Goes Wrong
- If a save fails, you'll see an error message with the option to retry. Your work stays in the Builder so nothing is lost — just try saving again.
- If a diagram doesn't load when you open it, an error message will appear with a retry option. You won't need to leave and come back; just click retry from the same screen.
