Duplicating a diagram lets you build on existing work instead of starting from scratch. This is especially useful when you need to show a client multiple configuration options for the same venue or create similar layouts for different events.
Why Duplicate a Diagram
Creating a duplicate gives you a completely independent copy to modify without affecting the original. Each duplicate gets its own shareable link, making it easy to present multiple layout options to prospects while keeping your base design intact.
Common scenarios for duplicating:
- Show a client theater-style, classroom, and banquet configurations for the same ballroom
- Create seasonal variations of a standard event setup
- Build prospect-specific layouts based on a proven template
- Test different furniture arrangements without losing your original design
Before You Start
Diagramming is available as an add-on to the Visiting Media platform. If you don’t already have the diagramming add on, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Duplicate a Diagram from Asset Library
Navigate to the Asset Library from the left navigation. Diagrams appear with a Diagram type label alongside your other property assets.
To narrow your view, use the Filter by > Type dropdown and select Diagram, or search by name to find the diagram you want to duplicate.
Once you've located the diagram, click the three-dot menu (…) next to it and select Duplicate.
The duplicated diagram appears in your Asset Library immediately with a clear naming pattern:
- First copy: [Original Name] (Copy)
- Second copy: [Original Name] (Copy 2)
- Third copy: [Original Name] (Copy 3)
You can rename the duplicate right away to something more specific, like "Grand Ballroom - Theater Style" or "Spring Conference Setup."
What Carries Over
Your duplicate includes the complete diagram structure: layout, shapes, furniture placement, and configurations from the original. The copy is a property-level asset, meaning everyone on your team with platform access can view and use it.
Each duplicate is completely independent. Changes to the duplicate won't affect the original, and changes to the original won't affect any of its copies.
What Doesn't Carry Over
Diagrams are not automatically added to your property's TrueTour. If you want a duplicated diagram visible in your shareable property tour, you'll need to add it manually to a Tour.
Edit Your Duplicate
Once duplicated, open the diagram from your Asset Library and make any changes you need. The duplicate has its own shareable link, so you can send different layout options to different prospects without any confusion about which version they're viewing.
All edits are saved in place, so recipients with the shareable link will automatically see the latest version. You never need to re-share links or update Tours after making changes.
