Before You Begin

What you'll need:

  • Plus or Pro tier access to create custom tours
  • Your best virtual tour assets for meeting and event spaces
  • Access to edit your SquareSpace website (or coordination with your web manager)
  • Basic familiarity with SquareSpace's code block feature

Recommended content types for Events pages:

  • Enhanced 3D models – Let planners walk through your meeting spaces virtually
  • 360° photos – Show realistic, detailed views of rooms and various event setups
  • CGI setups – Display different event configurations without physically staging each one

Create Your Virtual Tour

For Pro Users

  1. Create a new custom tour
  2. Select assets that showcase your meeting and event spaces:
    • Focus on 360° photos, 3D models, and CGI setups
    • Include various room configurations and event setup options
    • Add aerial views to show property context
  3. Arrange assets to highlight key features and tell a compelling story about your venue
  4. Name your tour: Distribution - Vanity Website - Events Page
  5. Configure your tour settings:
    • Click the Settings icon next to your tour title
    • Set Menus: Hidden
    • Set Property Info Card: Disabled
    • Set Digital Business Card: Disabled

For Plus Users

  1. Navigate to your Asset Library
  2. Select your single most comprehensive asset—typically your best 3D model of your primary meeting space
  3. This asset will serve as your virtual tour for the Events page

Copy Your Tour Link

For custom tours (Pro):

  1. Click the Share icon on your tour
  2. Click Copy to save the link to your clipboard

For single assets (Plus):

  1. Open the asset in your Asset Library and copy the link. 

Embed Your Tour on Your SquareSpace Events Page

Once you have your tour link, you'll add it to your SquareSpace Events page using a popup modal:

Step 1: Prepare Your Embed Code

You'll create a popup modal that keeps visitors on your page while they explore the tour. Contact your Customer Success Manager for the popup modal code template with your specific tour link.

Step 2: Add the Code to SquareSpace

  1. Log in to your SquareSpace account and navigate to your Events page
  2. Click Edit to enter edit mode
  3. Click the + icon where you want to add your "Virtual Tour" button
  4. Select Code from the block menu
  5. Paste your popup modal code into the code block
  6. Click Apply
  7. Save and preview your page to test the virtual tour functionality

Step 3: Add a Call-to-Action

Make sure your Events page includes clear, compelling language near the virtual tour button:

Effective CTAs:

  • "Take a Virtual Tour of Our Event Spaces"
  • "Explore Our Meeting Rooms in 3D"
  • "See Your Event Space in Detail"
  • "Walk Through Our Venue Virtually"

  • Check that the tour is locked to prevent changes
