Transform your SquareSpace Events page into an immersive showcase by embedding interactive virtual tours that help planners visualize your meeting spaces and make confident booking decisions.
What You Can Accomplish
Adding virtual tours to your SquareSpace Events page helps you:
- Differentiate your property with rich, interactive content that stands out from standard event venue websites
- Keep visitors engaged longer with visually compelling tours that provide detailed views of your spaces without requiring site visits
- Build confidence faster by giving planners complete context about room layouts, capacity, and configurations
- Drive more direct bookings by reducing the need for planners to comparison shop elsewhere

Embed Your Tour on Your SquareSpace Events Page
Once you have your tour link, you'll add it to your SquareSpace Events page using a popup modal:
Step 1: Prepare Your Embed Code
You'll create a popup modal that keeps visitors on your page while they explore the tour. Contact your Customer Success Manager for the popup modal code template with your specific tour link.
Step 2: Add the Code to SquareSpace
- Log in to your SquareSpace account and navigate to your Events page
- Click Edit to enter edit mode
- Click the + icon where you want to add your "Virtual Tour" button
- Select Code from the block menu
- Paste your popup modal code into the code block
- Click Apply
- Save and preview your page to test the virtual tour functionality
Step 3: Add a Call-to-Action
Make sure your Events page includes clear, compelling language near the virtual tour button:
Effective CTAs:
- "Take a Virtual Tour of Our Event Spaces"
- "Explore Our Meeting Rooms in 3D"
- "See Your Event Space in Detail"
- "Walk Through Our Venue Virtually"
For detailed SquareSpace embed instructions, consult SquareSpace's support documentation or work with your web manager.
Technical Setup for Optimal Performance
To ensure your virtual tours load quickly and display properly, share this domain with your IT team to add to your network's allowlist:
Primary domain: https://visitme.co

Best Practices for Maximum Impact
Use popup modals for better performance:
- Keep users on your website for a faster, smoother experience
- Avoid opening tours in new tabs, which can disrupt the browsing flow
- Don't embed tours directly on the page, as this can slow load times significantly
Strategic placement on your Events page:
- Position the virtual tour button prominently near the top of your Events page
- Consider adding tour access near specific event space descriptions
- Use the same CTA language consistently ("Take a Virtual Tour") so visitors know what to expect
Content selection tips:
- Choose assets that directly showcase the spaces featured on your Events page
- Include variety: different room sizes, setup configurations, and event types
- For Pro users, arrange assets in a logical flow that mirrors how planners will experience your venue
- Lock your tour after finalizing to prevent accidental modifications
Optimize for all visitors:
- Test your virtual tour on mobile devices—many planners browse on tablets and phones
- Ensure the popup modal closes easily and doesn't interfere with other page content
- Check load times across different browsers and devices
Extending Virtual Tours to Other Pages
While this guide focuses on your Events page, virtual tours can enhance other sections of your SquareSpace site:
- Homepage – Showcase your property's unique character with an overview tour
- Accommodations page – Give guests detailed views of room types and amenities
- Dining pages – Highlight restaurant spaces and private dining options
- Amenities sections – Show fitness centers, pools, spa facilities, and outdoor spaces
Using virtual tours consistently across your site creates a cohesive, immersive experience that keeps visitors engaged and builds confidence in your property.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Virtual tour button doesn't work:
- Verify the popup modal code is correctly formatted in the code block
- Check that your tour link is accurate and not expired
- Test in multiple browsers to rule out browser-specific issues
Tour loads slowly:
- Ensure your IT team has added https://visitme.co to your domain allowlist
- Check that you're using a popup modal rather than embedding directly on the page
- Contact your Customer Success Manager if performance issues persist
Tour displays incorrectly:
- Verify your tour settings match the recommended configuration (menus hidden, info cards disabled)
- Check that the tour is locked to prevent changes
- Test on different devices and browsers to identify device-specific issues
